History
Architecture
The present Parish Church built between 1250 and 1270 may stand on a Saxon site. Galfrid de Stocks was the first Rector at Child Okeford, presented in 1297 by his relative Roger de Stocks, patron of the parish, who held his lands from the King (Edward I).
THE TOWER at the west end is of greensand and dates from the 15th/16th centuries (the main door was in the north-west corner then).

WILLIAM KETHE who served as Rector from 1561 until 1608 (during the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I) and best remembered for his hymn "All people that on earth do dwell", is buried in an unmarked grave in the Churchyard. Whilst exiled in Switzerland, he worked on the translation of the Geneva or Breeche's Bible of which the Parish Church is fortunate to possess a copy.The Church Plate
The Church possesses a chalice which is hallmarked 1573.
