The village is located about ----- to the north of Trent,
the west of Sandford Orcas, surrounded on
all but its southern side by the county of Somerset.
At first sight, the village appears to have little to offer the visitor, the road through it from
Trent into Somerset in the north being lined on
the western side with modern bungalows of the 20th century. The older parts
of the village are to be found down the lane marked as a cul-de-sac.
On entering the lane, set on the wall to the north is an usual steel notice board
and, next to it, a post
box bearing the initials and crown of Queen Victoria
