The village lies about three miles north of Frome.
The church, dedicated to St Mary, was rescued from near deleriction in the 1970's and stands peacefully amongst the trees in a busy farmyard.
Basically a Norman structure, it was rebuilt in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, and again in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The tower is one of the smallest complete examples of its knd in the country.
Within are box pews, the remains of wall paintings, the royal arms of
Charles I (1625-1649), and sveral monuments to the Bamfyldes who were associated with the parish for some four hundred years.
The church, cared for by The Churches Conservation Trust, is usually open.
