The new Local History Centre, housed in the historic Town Cellars on Poole Quay, was created by the Borough of Poole with support from the heritage Lottery Fund.
This new facility combines the resources of the Poole Library Service and Poole Museum Service within the important medieval building which served to store wool en-route to Europe (the Port of Poole was a staple).
Any aspect of Poole history can be researched at the Centre from Merley to Bearwood and from Hamworthy to Branksome.

Newspaper Indexing Project
More than 150 years of local papers have been collected. These provide a great wealth of information which is regularly scanned

Names & Ship Indexes
